I've decided to do the ride to conquer cancer; and this year is very fitting. I ride for my captain Olly Birch, his fiance Ashley, their newborn Plum and my vision for cancer rehab in BC. Over the coming months, I will be putting my time and efforts into a PINC&STEEL international certification and offering physiotherapy cancer rehab services to my patients. I hope to build an awareness for the need for these services and create some major ‘wow factor’ as to how physiotherapy can ones better quality of life for patients with cancer. As for my Captain, his fiance and their newborn Plum, He tells the story the best...
As quoted from Olly Birch “The reason and inspiration I have for taking part in this event are very close to my heart. Back in November of last year I found Ashley, my girlfriend, 20 weeks pregnant at the time, having a seizure while in bed. After a 911 call and an ambulance ride we found ourselves in hospital and at the start of a journey that continues today. Ashley was diagnosed with a brain tumour and was operated on a few days later. She started radiation therapy within a few weeks and after 6 weeks of intense treatment, she gave birth to our beautiful baby, Plum. After becoming the most amazing mother, Ashley is now continuing with a six month course of chemotherapy.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation is a transformational cycling journey, spanning over two days and 200 kilometres. In August 2018, I'll be taking on the scenic Pacific Northwest in solidarity and promise to show that cancer is no match against our conviction to conquer it.
Funds raised through The Ride for the BC Cancer Foundation will support cancer research, treatment, and services at the BC Cancer Agency, a leader in cancer research and treatment.
